Tummy Tuck — Abdominoplasty Pittsburgh Body Surgery
Many of us are familiar with the body-sculpting procedure known as the tummy tuck. This popular surgery is a great way to remove excess skin and tighten abdominal walls. Those who are considering this procedure should find out more about what to expect in the days that follow.
After the tummy tuck surgery, a compression garment is typically required, along with some drainage tubes. Theses tubes prevent the buildup of fluids around the surgery site and help with the healing.
Once the drainage has diminished to a level previously discussed with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brian Heil, they will no longer be required. At the point where drainage tubes are no longer required, you’re permitted to shower. Expect discomfort for several days following the procedure; however, Dr. Heil will prescribe medication to manage any pain.
