A Restful Weekend Post Surgery
I made it through the weekend! I took it easy all day Saturday. I caught up on all my favorite shows and even rented an ‘On Demand’ movie. My husband needed a break from my bell, so he went out Saturday night-leaving me alone with the boys. I was worried that I would have to call on my friends for reinforcements, but that wasn’t necessary. They were dolls! We watched a few movies and were all in bed by 9:00 p.m. Saturday night.
I had high expectations for Sunday. I wanted to get out and walk around a bit, and take a shower. All in one day. Both were a huge success. We walked around the store for about an hour. That was exhausting, so I came home and took a nap. After my nap, I took my second post-op shower. This was a really busy day for me. I laugh because on any given Sunday I would have both of these things completed by 10:00 a.m.!
Dr. Heil called to check in on me tonight. I’ve been doing well for the most part, but I had to confess to him that I had taken my ACE bandage off an hour before and had not put it back on because I was so much more comfortable without it. He was less than pleased with me. After all, I’m an employee and should know better. The long-term complications are not worth the short-term comfort I was experiencing. We also discussed massaging the lipo and augmented areas. I need to do a better job at this. It hurts! Tomorrow I am returning to work. I’m hoping to stay for the day, but I’m going to stop when my body tells me otherwise.
