Questions No Longer Stay Veiled: The ThermiVa FAQ with Answers
Both natural aging and childbirth can cause the vagina to lose its tightness. This can not only physically affect the inside and outside of your vagina; it also impacts your self-esteem. The lack of elasticity can lead to further issues, such as:
- Bladder leakage
- Dryness
- Infection
- Decreased libido
In order to move towards vaginal wellness and to restore your confidence, ThermiVa treatments are available right here at Premier Plastic Surgery, our Dermatology Center near Scott Township, PA.
How does it work?
ThermiVa uses radio frequencies to softly heat the tissue of the internal vaginal canal and external labia to specific temperatures that encourage the growth of new collagen. This naturally tightens the area non-surgically, non-invasively, and without discomfort.
This radio frequency technology has also been used on other areas of the body, such as the arms, neck, stomach, etc. and is proven to be very effective. ThermiVa is that same technology, but focused solely on vaginal tightening.
How long is the procedure?
A single procedure lasts just about 30 minutes, but may require a couple of visits to achieve ideal results.
What can I expect after the procedure?
As this procedure is non-surgical, there is little to no downtime, and patients can return to work or their normal activities the same day. Immediate results will also be noticeable; however, it may take a couple of times before your desired results are achieved. Your doctor will work with you to regulate your treatments and determine when you will need another visit.
How long do results last?
Results last about one year, but following the initial first-time procedure, you will only need to go in one to two times a year to keep up the results.
Am I a candidate?
Women who have had children or are nearing menopause and would like a tighter vagina and/or labia are ideal candidates for this procedure. If you are looking to either improve your look or increase sexual pleasure, ThermiVa can do just that. From those with incontinence, vaginal dryness, or frequent infections, you are perfect for this rejuvenating procedure.
Are there any risks?
Since ThermiVa is a non-surgical solution, it does not have the risks associated with surgery. No burns or blistering have been reported; however, in very rare cases, the vaginal opening may become too tight.
ThermiVa can give you a younger-feeling and younger-looking vagina, as well as improve your overall well-being.
