1. Work out regularly.
You should build up as much muscle as you can prior to surgery as it will make your recovery that much smoother.
2. Keep a stable weight.
During the months leading up to your body lift you’ll want to keep your weight as regulated as possible. Excessive weight gain can cause your surgeon to postpone the procedure.
3. Stop smoking.
Smoking cigarettes or consuming nicotine in any other form can inhibit your body’s ability to heal during the recovery process. Therefore, it’s imperative that you quit the habit in advance.
4. Watch your prescription and over-the-counter drug intake.
Aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and even herbal supplements that can increase bleeding should all be taken in moderation in the weeks leading up to the procedure.
5. Get plenty of rest.
Make sure your mind and body are well rested before surgery for better healing.
6. Fill prescriptions in advance.

7. Prepare your house for your recovery period.
Stock up on high-protein foods, like shakes and smoothie supplements. You’ll want to choose things that are available in liquid form and easy to prepare. Also, set up a comfortable area where you can rest. Stock the area with entertainment, such as books, magazines, DVDs, your computer, and other basics.
8. Arrange for a friend or family member to help you out.
If you can, make plans for someone to stay with you for a few days after your body lift. If you have young children at home, make sure you have child care arrangements confirmed.
