Though macromastia may seem like a purely cosmetic problem to those who have not experienced it, it can actually cause physical issues like shoulder, neck and back pain and can cause rashes and irritation.<\/p>\n

A breast reduction is designed to reduce the size of a woman\u2019s breasts. It begins with the creation of an incision around the areola and under the fold of the breast, with a vertical line connecting the two. Once the incisions are made, excess breast tissue and skin can be removed and the breast shape can be corrected and lifted. In some cases, fewer incisions are needed for the reduction. Dr. Heil can also reduce the size of the areolae if needed.<\/p>\n
