Botox® Cosmetic
BOTOX® FDA approved for cosmetic use, temporarily stops unwanted muscle movement around the eyes to remove frown lines, crows feet, and more. Now widely used in combination with dermal fillers and skin tightening, Botox is an important component of non-surgical "facelift" facial restoration.
The effects of Botox® Cosmetic usually last 3 to 5 months, at which time another injection is required. After several treatments, the effects of Botox® Cosmetic may begin to last longer, sometimes up to 6 to 8 months. Treatments are performed in the office and take just a few minutes to complete. Deep and persistent wrinkles, especially between the eyebrows, the horizontal forehead lines, and the crow’s feet area are the most common areas treated. ProLipo™ Laser Lipolysis
The Sciton ProLipo™ laser provides plastic surgeons with a safe, fast, FDA- approved method for performing laser lipolysis for liposculpting. ProLip™ is a minimally invasive treatment that ablates and liquefies fat deposits in treated areas. When used in combination with the SkinTyte™ treatment the end result is skin that appears firm, toned and smooth. As a stand-alone procedure or in combination with liposuction, ProLipo™ can be performed comfortably under local anesthesia with less downtime and recovery than traditional lipolysis due to the Sciton ProLipo™ laser’s higher power output.

Non-Invasive Skin Tightening "SkinTyte" by Scition
Firm and tighten skin with a non-surgical, no-downtime treatment. Treatments uniformly heat tissue in the deeper layers of skin, stimulating new collagen production to take years off your appearance. Treatments are non-invasive, allowing individuals to quickly resume normal activities. A blended infrared light source reduces wrinkling and other signs of aging by stimulating new collagen production, which results in better-toned, younger-looking skin. SkinTyte™ treatments protect the epidermis though continuous contact-cooling, while the infrared light heats the deeper layers. There is an immediate tightening noted and new collagen production is triggered over the following six months because new collagen is still being produced. Results are noted after 1 procedure but better results are gotten by 2-3 treatments spaced a month apart. Skintyte™ is great for early jowling, loose skin and wrinkling around the nose and mouth.
MicroLaser Peels
MicroLaser Peel is a cosmetic procedure intended to improve conditions like wrinkles, scars, acne scars, keratoses or pigmentary problems. The intra-epidermal laser peel is able to precisely ablate deeper into the epidermis, making its effects more powerful than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels.
Because a MicroLaser Peel is more intense than a microdermabrasion, it is performed with a topical anesthetic. Most MicroLaserPeel patients want a more dramatic result but still do not want something as advanced as a full skin resurfacing. Referred to as the “weekend” skin peel, MicroLaserPeel will require a couple days to heal, often being performed on a Thursday or Friday to allow the patient to return to work on the following Monday.
Usually, MicroLaser Peels are repeated two to four times and spaced six to eight weeks apart, but the number of treatments will depend on the patient’s skin conditions and desired results. After the MicroLaserPeel is performed, the patient can expect their skin to appear red, with minor sloughing the following day – both of which will fade by the third day and will be easy to cover up with makeup after that.
Patients will notice improved skin texture and a more vibrant appearance within days, restoring a feeling of youth and vibrancy.
IPL/BBL Photo Facials
Photo Rejuvenation is a broad category used to define a particular kind of Light Therapy. You might know this type of treatment as Photo facial, Fotofacial, or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or BBL Broad band Light. Essentially all these therapies use the same light principals to improve the appearance of photo-aged skin, remove age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries through a process called Photo Rejuvenation for face and body.
Photo Rejuvenation Skin Therapy helps restore a more youthful appearance with virtually no patient downtime. It is a new technology (last 10 years) that gradually and naturally restores a smooth even surface to your face, hands and chest. Today’s active lifestyle doesn’t leave much time for recovery from a cosmetic procedure, which is why this therapy is one of the single best technologies for overall skin improvement
The treatment normally takes about five sessions and results begin to appear after one or two sessions. IPL targets red or brown skin cells and destroys them while leaving the surrounding lighter cells unharmed. During this process, collagen production is stimulated, rejuvenating the skin, shrinking pores, and filling in fine lines and indentations. The result is healthier, younger looking skin.
Laser Hair Removal
The presence of excess bodily hair can be the cause of discomfort and feelings of ill ease, leading people to alter their social activities because of it. Laser hair removal systems allows people to permanently remove unwanted hair by selectively targeting hair follicles and heating them with infrared energy.
The laser hair removal system is able to selectively target microstructures like hair follicles but treat many hairs at once, allowing treatment of large bodily areas to be practical. In order to be effective, treatments from three to five times at intervals of three to eight weeks will be necessary. Because laser hair removal can only successfully work when the hair is in the active growth phase, called anagen, multiple treatments are necessary for desired results.
Laser Treatment of Veins & Redness
The availability of lasers using infrared energy is a relatively new standard for treating a variety of skin conditions, including veins and redness. Laser treatment of veins and redness allows patients with rosacea, redness, facial veins, telangiectasia, spider veins and broken capillaries to enjoy a restored, natural and more youthful skin color.
The beam of the laser treatment of veins and redness will be delivered to the skin area being specifically treated. All skin areas can be treated with the laser, but the system is most popular in the face, neck, chest and legs. Laser treatment of veins and redness carries minimal risks, and healing time will depend on the actual treatment performed, though there is normally little to no downtime and moderate activity can be immediately resumed.
Photodyamic Therapy with Levulan®
Levulan® is a 20% solution of Aminolevulinic Acid (ALA). ALA is a “natural” product found in all humans throughout the body. It is a precursor for hemoglobin synthesis.
Photodynamic Acne Therapy is a procedure that can significantly improve moderate to severe acne, including cystic acne. Prior to Photodynamic Acne Treatment, the best available treatment option for resistant and cystic acne was Accutane. However, with Accutane there are many systemic side effects including birth defects, liver abnormalities, mood depression, and virtually all patients get dryness and night vision changes.
PDT Acne Treatment provides a viable alternative to Accutane as there are no systemic effects. Three to five treatments are advisable at two to three week intervals to obtain optimal results. PDT-ALA treatments inactivate the bacteria that trigger acne, exfoliate the skin to unclog pores, and decrease the activity of overactive sebaceous glands in the skin. With three mechanisms of action, it has a long lasting effect, even on severe acne, in the majority of patients.
Topical acne medications can be used in between the PDT ALA treatments once the redness has settled down, usually over a period of a few days. Antiviral medicines should be utilized for a patient that has a history of recurrent cold sores.
